Sometimes we learn of events months after they happen...I'm shocked and I'm deeply saddened.
This world has lost a beautiful human being and God now holds Ed in his arms.
I've been only an occassional customer to Ed since the mid 90's...but each time I entered the rental shop I felt welcomed, and I simply didn't want to leave.
Ed made me feel like all my worries just stayed out on the porch..and maybe slid down the ramp into the gravel...
Be it his good and honest smile, or his even keeled demeanor, or maybe it was his sincere and boyish laugh...I believe that all of these and many more aspects about him calmed you and encouraged you to stay n chat for a bit.
Thank you Ed...I miss you.
Don

Sympathy to Arlene, his children, and to his mother, brothers and sisters and extended family.
They say it takes a village. "Hebron Village" was that place for many of us.
i am sure that Ed and Jerry can have some great discussions, up where time stretches into beauty and completeness.
Peace with Jesus,
Carla Omoruyi .

Our Hearts and thoughts go out to you Arlene and your family, the Snyder family at large and of course Eds dear mother.
Ed was a good man. He had a big heart and a positive disposition. In a 5 minute visit to his shop he could articulate his views on current events with passion and thoughtfulness but, ask him how his family was and he would put down his pencil, light up his eyes and open his heart. Ed was a family man to his bones. He is loved and will be missed by his family to be sure but he was also loved and will be missed by many who knew him.
Peace and love in these difficult times

Our deepest sympathies and prayers to Arlene and Family. May each one of you experience God's peace and comfort. We well remember Ed from our years of pastoring at Liberty Pentecostal Church, Bowmanville (1994-2000). At that time the Snyders became a part of Liberty's church plant in Newcastle. Ed was an inspiration and example to many. He lived out his faith. Heaven wins. Mark and Evelyn Scarr, Ottawa

To Arlene and family;
The Lord's prayer has a verse that reads...
Give us this day our daily bread.
For Ed it became, give me this Day my Daily breath.
For Ed it was not about eating and drinking. It was about living. Living full. Living Long.
Loving his family. Watching them grow, prosper. Marry. Have families. Enjoy family get togethers. To play.
To pick them up when they fell and helped them back on their feet. To love his wife so much, the only woman in his life.
Commitment, prayerful, compassionate . I saw this and many times at work he talked about his children to me.
When his children hurt Ed was there with Arlene every time. At the sick beds and at the hospital nursery.
Ed's faith was pure and solid.
Ed fought valiantly to live every single day when he was told he had cancer. Ed - a husband and father was determined to look after his love ones.
Ed said he had so much life to live yet.
In Ed's last few days, Ed heart was changed by God. He felt his brother Jesus comfort and knew that he was going to his final home. Still his love was so great that it still hurt to leave his loved ones behind.
Ed has left us with forever memories. And Ed will always be missed. Ed has eternal Life
We will all find comfort in God's love.
And on the day of our final breath we will be reunited with Ed.
God's comfort on Arlene and family.
Love, John and Cathy

We have known Ed and Arlene for over 24 years, An amazing family - we went to their children's weddings and they even attended our daughter's wedding, As Ed's accountants we shared al lot of memories -tax issues, world religion, politics -and parenting. Ed was always a good listener , he always gave you respect. We went out to dinners with both Ed and Arlene on many occasion - always talking "FINANCE" he is one guy who too a chance in business investments and did well. Ed was an amazing respectful loving father-always seeing the positive side of things - never shy for giving advise - but always positive . "good-day-mate". Ed both Josie and I will miss you - we love you - and will always be in our prayers. SEE YOU IN HEAVEN - MATE. John & Josie Shankaran

This photo has special meaning. Ed was not the type to really dress up he was a love me as I am kind of guy. Nelson who is part of the Pineridge Family is more the GQ kind of guy. Ed was taking Arlene to celebrate her Birthday and he had planned a whole romantic day for her. Indoor Skydiving out to dinner and the Theatre in Port Hope. So he let Nelson be his dresser for the occasion. We all thought he looked very GQ. Memories like this will help us get through the grief of losing a amazing Boss and beloved friend. Sending love to his whole family from his Pineridge Family.

Just hearing Ed's name always brings me back to wonderful memories of Ed as a young student at Immanuel Christian School. He was a quiet, shy yet very caring young boy. It is such a moving moment for me to read all the comments about how he affected so many people in his life with his great love of his family, friends and above all his Saviour and Lord. In my experience at Immanuel, all of Ed's family especially his dad and mom were encouraging examples of this faith. Our condolences to you Aileen and your family in this loss of a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend! May God give you comfort and peace in the days ahead.
Praying for you,
Cathy and Johan Schenk

When I walked into Pineridge Rent-All on my first day of work a few years ago, I felt like I came home. Ed was the warmest most welcoming Boss and he made you feel like family right away. We knew so many of the same people we would play the name game. He said one day we are going to find out we are related. His sense of humor and love of adventure and his kindness drew everybody to him.
We had Pita Wednesday's and we would eat our pita's and he would talk about his family. He was so proud of all of them. I was blessed to meet his amazing wife Arlene and she has become a dear friend. My husband Dan loved having me come home happy from work. He loved hearing all the stories about Ed & Arlene and the family. Ed jumping on a plane to buy a pickup truck in Edmonton. Jumping on a plane to drive with his daughter-in-law from BC back to Ontario. Ed getting all dressed up to take his lovely wife out for a day of Birthday surprises.
When Ed's illness left him exhausted Arlene and Ed entrusted their business to first his adventurous son Aaron until his son James moved his whole wonderful family back home from Edmonton to help run it.
My favourite story of Ed shows how proud he is of all his children that includes his in-law children as well. He needed someone to help him with a big fencing job one day. His usual partner to Fencerise with Nelson had an injury. So Ed calls his daughter-in-law Ashley to the rescue. So when they are finished the job he proudly sends us all this photo of his new Fencerising Partner.
I was so blessed to have worked with Ed he was more a friend then Boss I loved him like a brother. He has made my life richer just from knowing him. I don't think he has really left me as I will get to see him live on in his wife ,children and grandchildren. Sending love to all the Snyder Family.

Ed is the closest person that I've had pass away in my life , even though I knew and tried preparing for the bad news it hit me like a ton of bricks when he passed . I worked for Ed for about 6years and I don't feel like an employee as Ed treated me like family an like a son , I've never had boss look at me before and say " I LOVE YOU NELSON" thats not what a boss says that's what family says .. Ed had a big heart with lots of love .. I will miss you Ed and I LOVE YOU TOO ,!!

Ed was a very dear friend we loved and had such wonderful times with. He loved life and especially loved his Arlene and his family (every one of them). They always reminded us of the “Walton family”. Ed and Arlene always made you feel welcome and celebrated every occasion with gusto. The parties in the barn we all can remember, weddings, showers, New Year celebrations and many, many more. Such fun... His passion for following the Lord was so evident especially in the last year. When we went to visit him on his sick bed, we felt we had been ministered to. We are very honored to have been a good friend of Ed and will always hold many fond memories of our times with him.
We will miss him very much. Till we meet again Ed.... love Bob & Dorthy

Dad surprised us by jumping in his truck and coming to church on Thanksgiving. At this time he was resting most of the day and going on morning walk. After church he drove home with Ben and did a little off-road driving on the way.
