Hi Liz, so sad to discover Rich’s passing. He was the greatest guy and often thought of him after we moved to N.B. (You may have visited us briefly on our farm) So glad he got to keep his Charger and I knew he’d always be a “car” (& bike) guy. Many great memories & most sorry, Ralph Lawson

I will miss Rich and you coming for our annual visit. All the good times we have shared and all the support you two have given me . I am so glad we had such a wonderful visit this year. I will miss the phone calls, jokes, witty sayings, the stories of childhood with family, car shows, In and Our Burger, road trips and you two visiting with me. This has been such a shock to realize Rich is gone. Like to think he and Brian are enjoying a good joke. I have enclosed one of my and Brian's favorite pictures of us together in Canada. All the memories will stay with me forever.
The door is always open for visits with you and the family. My prayers, love and support are with you all. Wish I could be there.
God Bless and love to you and the family

Liz, We so enjoyed our last visit with you and Rich. We will never forget the car show when the lights went out at night, trying to find each other and knowing Rich would still want to see each and every car. It was a fun night ending up at the Goldenwest Dinner with lots of food and stories to tell. Thank you for all the visits and memories! We will truly miss Rich like many others.
Our Love and prayers to you and your family,
Steve and Lori Letcher

I met Rich many years ago through our motorcycle racing. Never were too close until later in life from about 2000 on. Since then I got to know Rich and really enjoyed his company. We always through barbs at each other about how fast we were on our bikes but always in good humour. We had a few fun vacations together and I'll never forget our time in Texas and North Carolina. The best on my list is when nine of us rode our bikes to the old Woodstock Music Festival site. Our return trip through the Adirondack Park was sheer peg-scraping joy and Rich was right on my tail the whole way. Tina and I recently bought a motor home and were looking forward to spending a few more vacations with Rich and Liz. I am really going to miss you Rich but I'm sure I'll see you again one day in a place where it won't hurt to fall off. Goodbye my friend.

Hi Ron, Thank you for sharing your photos and remembrances! Rich and I sure enjoyed those wonderful trips with you and Tina to Hill Country in Texas, and Maggie Valley in North Carolina! And we, too, had hoped to do a little RVing together! Sure hope you enjoy it as much as we did! Warm regards, Liz

When we were in Owen Sound Museum last year, Rich found this flying suit from WW11 - the same as his dad's, which he used for ice-racing! Does anyone remember this old suit?

I had the pleasure of meeting Richard and his wife at Owen Nimmo's house where we often had dinner over the winter. What a great guy, always wanting to include me in some of his memories of growing up in Ontario. We were able to go for a great motorcycle ride one day. He was always out in front and I was always in the rear.. All went well that day until we realized he forgot to gas up his motorcycle as he coasted into the only station for miles in Winkelman Arizona. It was a shock to hear of his passing and I know he will be missed.

I met Rich around 1960 when both our families went to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Pickering. His parents and mine were close friends and in fact, his father Tom, passed on his Leafs' season tickets to my father and a neighbour of the Kerr's. Our families went back and forth for many meals and social occasions. I'll never forget the time when we were chasing each other around in the bush behind their farm in 1961 or 1962 and running into a broken off pine tree branch and almost taking my ear off! His mother Pat attended to me with great care and took me to the hospital to have it reattached! I'll always remember Richard's infectious smile and my envy as a youth of his hobby of motorcycle racing. I was shocked to see his obituary in the Star on the 18th. Jackie and I send prayers for strength and healing. Dave and Jackie Brisbin

Hello David,
Thank you so much for sending your memory of Rich's early family life. It's been such a wonderful comfort read and reflect on Rich's long and interesting life story. I do recall Pat talking about "The Brisbins" and another family I can't recall the surname of. I'm pretty sure you mom attended a shower held for me in 1980. Warm regards, Liz

Liz, our most heartfelt and deepest sympathy to you and your family. We just heard about this news from June Boys and were so deeply saddened and shocked. Richard always made us laugh and was always so upbeat and energized. I recall back in the late 60's when we used to have so many parties in the Pickering area, in the gravel pit with campfires, and telling stories. He was so good at that. We used to have so many parties at Brian Boys' parents place in their basement listening to vinyl records, and Gord Lightfoot seemed to be over and over again. Many, many wonderful times! Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family at this very sad time. Take care, Liz. Fran and John Paterson

Hello Fran and John,
Thank you so much for reaching out to me, and our family. Rich had so many wonderful friends, most of whom he stayed in touch with throughout his lifetime, some more frequently than others depending on everyone's life directions. I do recall meeting you at one of June and Brian's parties several years ago.
Rich continued to make people laugh and feel good about themselves right up to the end. He would be so happy to know people are remembering him this way!
Many thanks, Liz

Hello Ralph, Donna, and Joy
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts! Indeed, Rich just loved to talk, visit, and bring smiles to everyone's faces. In our early days in Enniskillen, your family welcomed us, and helped us so much in becoming a part of this wonderful community. We were both raised on farms in small communities, and coming to Enniskillen felt like coming home right from the beginning!
Warm regards,
Liz, Michael, Cathy, and Tom
