Dear Family of Mary McClelland
What heartache you are feeling as you mourn the passing of your mother and grandmother!
My memories of Mary go back to Walkerville Collegiate Institute. She was a vivacious personality and everyone knew who she was. As a cheerleader, she enthusiastically led us to cheer for the Tartans. And there she was on the basketball court to throw, shoot, and score for the Blue/White Team. I believe Mary was one individual who participated in most sports of the Athletic Program offered for girls at WCI. But most of all, I remember Mary's smiling face and her friendly attitude as she bounded down the halls of our beloved school!
Time passed and life went on until a few years ago, we met, by chance, and had fun reminiscing. We exchanged e-mail addresses and kept in touch. Mary and I shared a love of Elvis!
Mary was so kind to come to my husband's Visitation to offer her comfort and support.
Lately we saw each other on FaceBook. I was happy to learn that she had moved to Bowmanville to be close to her loving and caring family.
How shocked I was to learn of her passing!
Dear Family, Please accept my deepest sympathy. You will miss her because you loved her. I will miss her friendship!
My thoughts and prayers are with you!
Love, Mary Boldizar Jacko, WCI Class of '58 Tartans Forever

We are sad about the loss of Mary. My memories of her at the cottage are vivid, always throwing open her Green Gables door and offering some munchies and drinks to all of us. We are thankful for her kindness, wit, and generosity. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always.

We went to public school and high school with Mary and always enjoyed being with her. She had a heart of gold and enjoyed being with friends and making people feel important. She always spoke so highly of her children and grandchildren. I knew she was sick and when I talked to her she was always so positive. She will be missed by all of you, her family and friends who knew her. R.I.P. Mary you have earned your wings.

My friendship with Mary was brief but one to remember. You could always count on Mary to have a smile on her face and a positive comment. One of her favorites was "It's great to be alive" She never complained even through Chemo. My condolences to her family and friends, she will be greatly missed.

Dear McClelland Family,
We are so sorry to hear of Mary's passing. We absolutely adored your mother. We met her through her neighbour Pam when my husband came to trim the hedges and deal with all her crazy hostas as she called them! She was always so positive and so kind to all of us. She gave me her bottled wine for helping her, we I thoroughly enjoyed it and told her so. Then when she became ill she called me for some assistance which I was glad to give her. And even through all her trials and tribulations she always tried to remain so positive. She touched so many lives in her family especially her grandchildren whom she loved to bits, her girls card club, friends, neighbours, students and fellow teachers. A life well lived and we are better people for having known her and having her touch our lives. Rest in peace Miss Mary we will miss you forever.

To the family of Mary: Although we did not stay in touch with your mom, we will always treasure the memories of her years teaching with Geoff at John O. Cahill, and the staff parties at our place on Lake Erie.
I also had contact with Mary, when I was teaching French to each of you at Northwood Public School. Of course, you were all "model students" , so there were never any issues.
Your mom was a special person and her memory will always be a treasure. Our sincere condolences to all of you.

My condolences to all of your family. Mary will be sadly missed by everyone that knew her. I will always remember her bright eyes and smile when we would hash over the many events at the cottage. I think i first met Mary in 77 when my mom and the Whites were there. I will remember her fondly.
