Today I said goodbye to an amazingly sweet man. A man that I had the honour of calling my "Hockey Date" every Tuesday morning at SandyMoloney skate for years. We sat together and watched Liam, Brendan and Logan work to achieve their goals on the ice and laughed when Liam threw Logan in the garbage can after...... A man that supported not only his own grand kids but also my children. He showed up to watch every game and practice that Brendan was in with his Grandson James Powers and also showed up to support Logan during his OMHA and OHF run. I had the pleasure of having him come to Lake Placid with Brendan, my mom, Tammy Powers, James and I for a gold medal Tournament. He was so proud of all the boys. EVERY TIME we saw George he was always great! No complaints, positive, caring, sweet and kind. Brendan, Logan and myself are all better people because we got to know him. George, you made the world brighter with your presence, you had a great impact on my family and you will be deeply missed. I know you will always be with all of us in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. The arena will never feel the same.
