Ale was a good friend of my parents, Ralph and Theresia Dykstra, both of whom are deceased. I have wonderful childhood memories of both Ale and his wife Christine. When they came to our house, we kids hung around on purpose just to hear Ale laugh... he laughed so hard sometimes, he would bury his face in his hands, and when he came up for air... the tears of laughter were running down his face! An image I have never forgotten. To us, he was this wonderful giant of a man...so kind, so thoughtful, and loved by us! A life well lived! May you Rest In Peace now, and if you see my folks... well...you know what to say! God Bless, Harry

I remember many a Sunday afternoon after church visiting the Noordstras with my parents (Ralph and Theresia Dykstra) and my siblings (Harry and Teresa). I always remember your dad as being larger than life and a voice to match! My sincere condolences on the loss of your dad.

Hello dear cousins, monday evening I got the call about your father from aunt Aukje. I feel very much sorry for the lost of your father, father in law and grandfather, my uncle Ale. I feel a lot of sympathy for him, and of course for your mother, aunt Christien. My parents loved them, they had a good relationschip, as you know. In better times uncle Ale en my mother Jeltje phoned every week about 20-30 minutes (!), for many years. the costs were no problem they said(....)Sometimes, when I was at my Mom's home and when they were online, I spoke to your father. He was always interested in our lifes en the society in Holland en Friesland, etc. with a positive attitude and view. I hope that you and your family wil have a good farwell the coming days. Tomorrow I will then think of you and your father. Partly on behalf of our family. Love Evert
Of course I have nice memories of your dad. It is a pity that we can't meet each other at the time. Maybe later.
