About my neighbour 'Jimmy'
One of my favorite conversations with him was our first Fall living on our street. Our son Aaron, and I where raking leaves. After some chit chat he said: "You know, you don't really need to rake leaves."
Me: " I don't mind...but why not?"
Jimmy: "Every Fall there comes a super windy day and all the leaves blow from your side to my side all the way into the back yard."
Me: "Well, then you won't have to rake as much."
Jimmy with a twinkle in his eye and a chuckle replied: "I don't rake either...they blow into the yard of the sisters next door."
To my shocked face he added: "Then THEY push them into the revine."
He laughed all the way home.
That was almost 14 years ago. And he was right on about the Big Wind - every year it happens - every year it reminds me of that conversation and makes me smile.
