My heart goes out to the Tanner family during this very difficult time of losing your precious young son. Danny has left you with many precious memories during his 17 way too short years with you all. I hope the Tanner family find comfort and strength knowing Jesus with the help of Jehovah God, who cannot lie, promises that we will see Danny again by means of an earthly resurrection found at John 5:28, 29 when sickness and death will be eliminated forever found at Revelations 21:4. My son Adam Leavitt told me of Danny's passing earlier this morning. I volunteered at Harold Longworth from JK to Grade 5 for every class trip and that's how I knew Danny. There are no words to express my sadness for your family - may you find strength in memories somehow. Am still in shock and greatly saddened and heartbroken by the news of the passing of your handsome son fondly called Danny.I was hoping to meet him so that i could enjoy his great sense of humour about mimicking the Nigerian accent; by the way this made me laugh so hard when his adorable mother Phyllis told me about it.But as things turned out,God our giver of life,called him home.

Dear Tanner Family,
You are in our thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. My husband, Regan, and I had the honour and pleasure of spending ten days with Danny last year on the missions trip to Jamaica. I was so touched by Danny’s testimony and the way that he loved the children and youth we met. I will never forget the way he dressed up to make the kids laugh, the way he helped them with their crafts, when he let the little girls do his hair with pony-tails, and the way he shared his testimony so openly and spoke of the grace extended to us so freely. Danny was full of gentleness and kindness, and I pray that you will find comfort knowing, without a doubt, that he is now in the presence of his Lord.

Still can’t believe this. I am just so sad. Danny, who Phyllis and I fondly called my son from another mother. We spent all his childhood together with my kids on the court.
