My condolences to Aunt Doris, Doug, Deanna, Michelle and Dan as well as all Kathy's loved ones. I have fond memories of Kathy as my oldest cousin when I was a little girl and she was at our place quite often. One of my favourites is her showing me how to climb the Malberry tree Mom and Dad had in their backyard, I can still see her up in that tree laughing! Thoughts are with you all!

Aunt Kathy was most definitely the glue to our family, after grandma J passed away... This is so sudden and so unfair! Donald, Alaric and I are sending our love, payers and condolences. We truly wish we could be there for the service, I am sure it is going to be exactly how Aunt Kathy would have wanted it.

Our whole family is so saddened by this, in many ways Kathy was the 'glue' for our family since mom passed. She ensured that everyone still got a piece of mom's crafting through her quilt gifts she created for each newborn using some of mom's quilt pieces. Kathy and Doug did their best to keep our family picnics going and hosted it at their home for several years. And of course, we all looked forward to her Christmas pudding that she made from Grandma Johnston's recipe. My heart goes out to Doug, his children, grand-children and great-grandchildren. This is a terrible loss for our Johnston family. RIP Kathy, you will be greatly missed by so many.

Sharing one memory is impossible because there are so many great ones I had with her. But the one memory that I have never forgotten and never will is when Rory was about a month old and I sat on her couch crying because I was so sleep deprived and she came up to me, put her arm around me and said "You are doing a great job. You are a great mom and this little girl knows it and loves you. But....sometimes you have to let her go and let nana take control so you can sleep." Then she took Rory out of my arms and stayed awake with Rory in the middle of the night for 5 hours. That was when I knew that everything was going to be okay and I could do this whole mom thing. She supported me and Dan so much with Rory and never stopped helping.
I love you. Thank you for your love.
