Obituary of Christopher Allan Barnard

October 21, 1962 - May 24, 2018

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the death of Christopher at the early age of 55.

Predeceased by his mother Nancy Lewis (2008). Leaving to celebrate his life are his father, Douglas (Marie Thomson), of Richmond Hill; his sisters, Julia (Guy) Poore, of Burnettesville, Indiana; Michelle (Ian) Holdforth, of Bowmanville,  his brothers, Paul (Rheah), of Trenton and Randy (Lucie), of Scarborough, his spouse, Cheryl Brooks, his children Adam (Heather) Christopher and Tabatha, his grandchild, Kaleb and many other nieces, nephews and their families.

Music was an important part of Christopher's life so much so he was an accomplished guitar player and singer, providing endless hours of entertainment to friends and family, particularly when at the cottage.

Chris had a deep love of language arts, music and most of all, the love he had for his family, he was a kind and gentle man who cherished every moment he spent with them .  A proud son, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed and never forgotten.

Visitation will be held at NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. Bowmanville, on Monday June 11th, 2018 from 12:30 – 1:30 pm.  A Celebration of Chris's Life will follow in the Chapel at 1:30 pm.  Interment Bowmanville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to CAMH Foundation.
