Hello Susan, Matthew, Andrew and Rebecca:
We were saddened to hear of the passing of your special loved one Brian. We have very fond memories of our time at Argyle Citadel. We were so grateful to have such a fine christian gentleman as Brian as the bandmaster. We appreciated his kindness to us when we were stationed there and cherish the memories of his example of a great salvationist.
We remember you Susan as such a great supporter of Brian and you 3 children as just young folk growing up in the corps.
When we heard of his passing you were in our thoughts and prayers as a family.
Only now did we get the information making it possible to send you this message.
May God bring you His comfort and loving care through these days and into the future.
God's blessings
Don and Elsie Goodridge, Kelowna, BC

It has taken some time to accept that Brian is no longer here with us. He was one of those people who always seemed to be present and engaged. Brian lives on in the Home our faith teaches us about.
I have known Brian for many years and always appreciated his encouraging words, humour, and, his ability to stand on convictions.
To the family I extend my sincere sympathy.

It was with great sorrow that Patricia and I learned of the passing of Brian. Our deepest sympathy and prayers are for Susan and all his family.
It was certainly a privilege for me personally to play in the CSB under his leadership which ,to say the least, was inspiring. Also, to be able to count him as a
true friend was, to me, a memory that will live with me always.

We are so sorry for your loss and yet very grateful that we had the opportunity to know and be a small part of Brian's life. We are also very grateful that his eternity is in the hands of Jesus. As you come together on Saturday to celebrate his life, we will be praying that God will give you comfort and peace as He begins the process of healing your hearts and that Saturday's celebration will be a time of joy and peace for all of you.

Brian was a man of purpose, insight, humour, influence and knowledge. He was a fine Christian, enthusiastic Salvationist, model bandsman and leader. A well respected man of purpose who left no doubt about his personal relationship with God and love for his family. We shared so many good times during holidays, at various music camps, and with Oshawa, Heritage Brass and the Canadian Staff Bands. He could be mischievous and enjoyed a good joke.
Brian was a special friend to us and we will really miss him.
Be assured of our continuing prayer support. May the Lord be your comfort and strength during these days.

Fond memories of Brian and his leadership and band training skills. While I was Bandmaster of the Pasadena Tabernacle Band, Brian came and did a weekend with the band. Due to Brian’s leadership, the band never sounded or played better. Interestingly, the main piece the band played under his leadership was Call of the Righteous. Brian has answered that call and will be missed here on earth but am sure he is rejoicing in glory.

What can I say about the life of Brian? Passion, comradeship, friendship, kindness, honesty.... I have seen all these qualities in Brian when he asked me to join the CSB to Brasil. Although we only had three weeks together in Canada, he gave me friendship and having a friend is the most precious gift you can ever receive.
May God be aware that a true christian entered heaven that the angels stay in tune!
Next year I will be in Canada and I am sure we will give tribute to him, I will for sure!
Love to all the family

Brian was the special guest at a number of Music Camps that we were involved in, in Manitoba & Saskatchewan. Even though we didn't enjoy the depth and breadth of musical resources that were available in other parts of Canada, Brian was always encouraging us, and made a significant impact on the lives of Faculty and Students alike. He will be fondly remembered as a great musician, great leader, and a fun guy! Our deepest sympathy is extended to the Burditt family. We know how difficult it is to lose someone you dearly love, and we pray that your memories will give you peace and joy as you remember the life he lived, and the time that you had together. God bless you all.

Greg Riman posted a condolence

Brian was an amazing influence to the Riman family! I especially remember the many times the YP band was invited to sit in with the senior band on a Sunday night! It gave me a chance to see what I could become, not only as a musician, but Christian example!
My dad, George shared a story with me about how Brian allowed him to be deputy B/M! Dad told me that there were a number of more talented leaders in the band who would be suitable for the position, but Brian gave my dad a chance and through his mentorship, my dad was able to go on to lead other bands and even songsters! All because Brian gave him the chance!
Brian didn’t need to be loud or boisterous! Everything he did was done with class and respect! And he will certainly be missed!
I don’t know if any of my family members will get a chance to comment, so let me, on behalf of the Riman family, say, “Thank you, Brian!” And to Susan, Matthew, Andrew, Rebecca and the rest of the family, we love you and pray for you in this time of loss! But we know he has heard ‘Well done, good and faithful servant!”

Brian was a great encourager to me. From my very first National Music Camp in 1974 until a few weeks before his promotion to Glory. I will always remember him fondly and with great thanks for his influence on my life.

I am sorry that I will not be able to be there in person to join with you, and many others that will be there to celebrate Brian's life. He was always a source of encouragement and guidance to me when I was the Y.P. Bandleader, and throughout my journey here to Training College. Words cannot express how grateful I am to have been able to get to know him over the years. I will always remember him coming up to me before the Divisional Candidate's Farwell last July and asking me if I was excited to be on my way after all this time. When I answered yes, he gave me his signature grin and said in true Brian form, "Good" followed up with "we don't want you back!"
Susan and family, you are constantly in my thoughts and prayers. Brian will be missed tremendously here on Earth, but we know where he is, and we will see him again in Glory!
God bless,
Andrew.

Our love and prayers are with you as you Celebrate your dear husband, father, grandfather and our friend Brian. Although the miles separate us our thoughts will be with you as a family. We are grateful we will be able to share via live stream. Many memories come to mind over the years, mostly all of a humorous nature as we spent fun times together! A fine Christian gentleman who has influenced so many lives in the music world. God Bless!

We met several years ago at the Dearborn Heights Michigan visit of the CSB. I was the CO. He was brilliant and gentle, full of good humor and kindness.
A great loss.
