My memories of Mr. Sproatt are from a long time ago. He was the father of my best friend, Lynn, in high school, and I remember his humour, his gentleness, and his kindness. I always thought very highly of him, and envied Lynn her relationship with her dad. Despite the fact that it's been almost 40 years since I saw him last, he is one of those people, who in one's past, touched them and kept a place in one's heart. RIP, Mr. Sproatt.

My sincere condolences to the family of John. I did not know John well but what I did know was that he had a terrific sense of humour and a twinkle in his eye. I know he will be truly missed.

Condolences to Caroline and Lyn, I will miss my allotment buddy / manager, and our Saturday morning coffee will not be the same for Audrey and I. John was a true gentleman, and had a great sense of humour which made us laugh.

We thought John was the most erudite, kind, generous, well-read and witty gentleman of the old school we were privileged to know since 1996. He always made us laugh--a unique sense of humour was his greatest gift to us. He was a delight to be with and brightened our lives every time we got together, such a positive human being, always looking forward. In our books, he is irreplaceable--one of a kind. Our lives are truly diminished by his passing. When we think of John, we will treasure his memory and remember the twinkle in his eye. Our deepest sympathy to his beloved wife, Carolyn, and daughter Lynn and family.

John was a true gentleman of high intelligence with an outstanding outlook on life . He possessed an excellent wit
and sense of humour. John could talk about almost any issue under the sun enthusiastically and accurately, off the cuff on many occasions.. He lived a long full, rich life, and both of us will truly miss him.
We extend warmest sympathy to his beloved Carolyn and also to devoted daughter Lynn, and her husband Augusto.
