Dear Mary Lou,
I am thinking about you and your family and the sadness you must be sharing around the passing of Warren. Even when someone lives to be eighty years old, it is hard to say good-bye. I can imagine there will be much conversation about the long life Warren lived and how many people within your family and beyond enjoyed knowing him. There will likely even be some smiles and chuckles about his great sense of humour. I am praying for you to have the strength and comfort needed for these next few days especially and for the days and months ahead. Please know that you are in my thoughts.

Too many memories our families have. We lived next door for years and years and our children grew up together. Warren, Mary-Lou and their daughter Janet were my youngest daughters God parents. When my husband George passed away, they were the first ones to our home and took my sister and myself to the hospital to view his body. When my daughter Andrea was married, Warren stopped over at the house, to give her a special hug, just knowing she was missing her father. We had family nights together with other neighbours, always laughter and good times. He also loved my meatballs:).
My mind is swirling with all the memories. God Bless you all. Hugs Mary.

I have many memories of “Mr. T”
He was my best friend’s dad, and our next door neighbor.
My earliest memories are of the awesome snow forts that he and my dad used to make for us kids to play in. They covered the entire length of our two backyards.
At neighborhood get-togethers, Warren and my dad would always be in the basement, playing music and dancing with the kids. We thought they were the coolest!
Going away on hockey tournament weekends with the Townsley’s to watch Warren coach his Toros team. Well, we didn’t really watch – we mostly were on the hunt for boys. Isn’t that right, Terri Ann?
Whenever I had a sleep over at Terri Ann’s, Warren would always be sure to give a hug and kiss goodnight – me included!
A big support for the Heath girls and our mom, when our father, George passed away. Warren was not only a pall-bearer at dad’s funeral, but we kinda thought of him like he was our own dad after that.
I would always try to pop into the Townsley’s on Fourth Street when I returned to Bowmanville. On one occasion, (Mary Lou was not home) I remember getting very melancholy while visiting with Warren at their kitchen table. He quickly pulled out a box of tissue, and held my hand. For some reason, that really stands out for me – he wasn’t an overly vocal man – but he sure knew what to do.
