Obituary of John Bandstra

Peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, at the age of 85.

Beloved husband of the late Annie (nee DeVries). Loving father of Ingrid, Laura (Chris), Orwin (Jackie), Caroline (Rod), Andrew, and Paul (Sarah). Cherished Pake of Ryan (Charissa), Garret (Amanda), Emily (Scott), Janita, Ian (Michelle), Lydia, Thomas, Owen, Reid, and Luke. Dear great-grandfather of Kolby and Cora. Loved brother of Jenny (Bill) Dykstra, Jim (Betty) Bandstra, the late Harmen (Henka) Bandstra, Annie (Claude) Bierstaker, Mike (Jenny) Bandstra, and the late Bob (Pat) Bandstra. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, close friends, and the local dairy farming community within Durham Region. Special thank you to Dr. Jefferson, and staff of the Emergency Department at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville.

Visitation will be held at NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division Street, Bowmanville, on Sunday, June 11th from 3 – 6 pm. A service to celebrate John’s life will be held at MARANATHA CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH, 2805 Highway 2, Bowmanville, on Monday June 12th at 11 am. Interment Bowmanville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Knox Christian School.
