It has been a little over four years since Gord passed away but I still think of him. I learned so much from him while he was at Humphrey Funeral Home and then at Turner & Porter Funeral Homes. He was such a nice, gentle soul. I think of him with fond memories.

I was saddened to read about the passing of Gord. I was your babysitter back in the late 70's & early 80's. So many great memories of Gord coming to get me for the evening still dressed in his work suit from Humphrey's, to being taken out to the garage to admire the next stage of completion on the antique car, stories of dinner at the Pickle Barrel along with an interesting sense of humour & the comfort of coming into your home to the sounds of the radio set to CHFI with Candlelight & Wine on. I got a lot of homework & reading done to that once Stacey, Jessica & Warren had gone to bed. During this difficult time of sadness & grief I pray that you will be comforted by many good memories.

My sincere condolences. I had not seen Gord in several years. He was a very kind and patient gentleman and an incalculably valuable mentor to many generations of funeral directors. He spoke often of his family and how much he enjoyed spending precious time off with you all. My family extends our sincere affection.

My very first day working at Turner & Porter Yorke chapel was spent shadowing Gord, talking to him and getting some insight on how he saw the world and the industry was a true privilege.

My sincerest condolences to the Boyd family. I have only known Gord a short time through working together at Turner & Porter Funeral Homes but I have sweet memories of his kindness, knowledge, unyielding will to do the best for every family he served and for his love of 'old' cars. He was always a delight to see and talk with. Thank you Gord for the blessing of your life on us all :)

I had the nonour of working with Gord for a few years. The Funeral Profession has lost one its greats. I once asked if we could have a mind melt so that I could acquire all of his knowledge and memories. I'm sure Gord would have granted my request had he known how to do that! He was a character, a great man and he will be missed by many.

I had the pleasure of working with Gordon within the funeral profession for several years, his services were offered to my family during times of loss as well, and I consider Gord to be a truly great example of the profession that saw him serve those in need for so very many years. He will be missed by all that knew him, and my thoughts are with you all in this journey of loss.

Good bye, Uncle Gord. I will remember and always appreciate long talks in the driveway about old cars, poltics and of course listening to whatever joke you'd just scored from the guys at work. You will be missed.
