Obituary of Kenneth Robert Parsons
Ken was born in Saint John, New Brunswick January 16, 1947. He was the son of the late Harriet and George Parsons of Moncton, New Brunswick. He is survived by his wife, the former Bonnie Sands, one sister, Barbara Parsons (Albert Girard) of Pointe-du-Chêne, NB, stepsons Chris Rushton of Oshawa, ON, and Gary Allen of Moncton, NB. He was predeceased by one brother, Doug Parsons in 1989.
Ken grew up in Moncton, NB where became a boy scout and was awarded the honour of Queens Scout in 1963. Ken also did figure skating and ballroom dancing. He was a graduate of Oultons Business College. He worked with the disabled in Moncton and at various jobs in the area. He was also a businessman and ran a store in Dalhousie, NB.
Ken was an avid stamp and coin collector. He loved playing the electric guitar and was a member of the band Keytones in the 1960s and a current member of Shades of Grey in Oshawa.
He married his second wife, Bonnie in May of 1995 so he became stepfather to her two boys, Chris and Gary.
He was a member of the New Life Seventh-day Adventist Church in Oshawa where he held various offices up to the time of his death. He was a firm believer that he will see Jesus when He comes again.
