Obituary of Ronald Gregory Bates

Youngest son of the late James Wilfred and Elizabeth Bates (nee MacSween) of Glace Bay, NS, passed away peacefully at the age of 79 at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Friday, August 30th, 2013. For over 25 years, Ron worked as a property manager with the Metro Toronto Housing Authority. He also served for 10 years in St. Vincent with Scarboro Foreign Missions Society. The beloved husband of Sheila (nee Daniels) for 41 years; adoring father of Mark and Paul (Christy); proud grandfather of Brennan; loving brother of Aubrey (Audrey); and dear brother-in-law of Joan Bates and Frances Poteur. Ron is predeceased by his brother Wilf and sister Anita. A lover of woodwork, wine making and home improvement, Ron is fondly remembered for his sense of humour and deep devotion to his family.
