The Municipality owns and operates the Clarington Animal Shelter; we also investigate animal complaints, enforce animal by-laws and assist with wildlife concerns in the community.
In addition, our staff also provide the following services: fostering, impounding animals, removing animal remains, reuniting animals with families and routine neighbourhood patrol, sheltering, and caring for impounded/surrendered animals.
The Clarington Animal Shelter is located in Bowmanville. Our friendly staff and dedicated volunteers care for animals that are up for adoption. We also take care of stray, injured or lost pets that are dropped off.
